Privacy Policy
Hook is in free beta. It's built and run by its founder and hasn't incorporated as a company yet — when it does (and before any paid plans launch), this policy will get formal legal review and be updated with full business details. Everything below is accurate to what the app actually does today.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Hook ("Hook," "we," "us") collects when you use our call-navigation software (the "Service"), how we use it, and who we share it with.
Who we are
Hook is an independent product built and operated by its founder, Chris Krause. It is currently in free beta and has not yet incorporated as a company; formal business details will be added here when it does. The fastest way to reach us is the in-app suggestion box (Menu → Suggestions) — it goes straight to the founder.
Information we collect
We collect information in three ways:
- Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and password (handled securely by Google Firebase Authentication — we never see or store your raw password).
- Information you enter while using the Service. This includes call scripts you write or edit, call outcomes and notes you log, business and contact names for prospects you call, leads you upload, objection tracking, and team settings. This is the core data the product runs on.
- Information you provide to teammates. If you're on a team, certain data (script edits, aggregate call stats, objection trends, leaderboard standing) is visible to other members of your team. It is never visible to other teams using Hook.
We do not currently use cookies, third-party analytics, or advertising trackers of any kind on this site or in the app.
How we use AI
If you use the "Generate with AI" feature to draft a call script, the information you enter for that purpose (your industry, who you're calling, your call goal, and your chosen style) is sent to Anthropic, the company that builds the Claude AI model, in order to generate the script. This only happens when you actively choose to use that feature — it is never triggered automatically. Anthropic processes this data under its own privacy policy and terms, available at anthropic.com/legal/privacy. AI-generated scripts are stored in your account like any other script you write yourself.
How we store and protect your data
Hook is built on Google Firebase and Google Cloud Platform. Your account data and everything you enter into the app is stored in Google's Firestore database and protected by Firebase's authentication and access-control systems. We do not maintain our own separate servers or databases outside of Google's infrastructure.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data, to anyone, ever.
- We don't share your call data or prospect information with third parties for marketing purposes.
- We don't record or listen to your actual phone calls — Hook is a script and note-taking tool; it has no access to live call audio.
Payment information
Hook does not currently process payments — the product is in free beta. If and when paid plans launch, payment will be handled by a third-party payment processor (e.g. Stripe), and this policy will be updated to reflect that before any payment feature goes live. We will never store your full card number ourselves.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your account and usage data for as long as your account is active. If you want your account and associated data deleted, ask through the in-app suggestion box (Menu → Suggestions) — include the email you signed up with — and we will delete it, other than what we're required to retain for legal or accounting reasons.
Children's privacy
Hook is a business tool intended for sales professionals and is not directed at, or knowingly used by, anyone under 18.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the in-app suggestion box (Menu → Suggestions).
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify active users by email.
